Antique bronze sculpture of a standing Roman warrior wearing a helmet and holding a spear.
The bronze is signed by the German artist Julius Schmidt Felling ca. 1895.
The sculpture has a lovely patina and stands on a marble base.

Joseph Louis Lamberton was a pupil at the Ecole des Beaux arts in St Etienne, Ecole des Arts Decoratifs & Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. Painter, sculptor, decorative artist. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français and the Exposition Internationale in Paris 1937 where he was rewarded with a bronze medal.
