The sculptures are made of art metal with a refined silver patina and feature expressive glass eyes, a characteristic detail often found in Art Deco animal sculptures.
Each figure stands on a striking Belgian black and beige marble base, creating a strong geometric contrast typical of the Art Deco aesthetic.
Manufactured in France circa 1930, this pair beautifully illustrates the cubist influence in Art Deco decorative sculpture.
Both decorative and functional, these bookends are ideal for collectors of Art Deco objects or as elegant accents in a refined interior.
