    This Georges H. Laurent Art Deco parrot bookends set is a refined example of French decorative sculpture from the Art Deco period of the 1920s.
    The composition depicts two stylised parrots perched elegantly on rectangular Portor marble bases. The design reflects the geometric elegance and stylised natural forms characteristic of the Art Deco movement around 1925.
    The pieces are signed “G.H. Laurent”

    The French sculptor Georges H. Laurent, is known for his animal sculptures en decorative bookends produced during the Art Deco period.
    The bookends are executed in silvered art metal and mounted on Portor marble bases, demonstrating the refined craftsmanship typical of French decorative arts of the early twentieth century.
