Antique bronze sculpture David after the combat signed by Antonin Mercié, With Founders signature Barbedienne Paris and the Collas seal. 
Bronze with brown patina.
France 1880. 

A life-size nude version of this model, was exhibited at the Salon of 1872 where it not only won a first class medal but also brought Mercié the distinction of being the only artist to receive the Cross of the Legion of Honor while still a student at the French Academy in Rome. This bronze is now in the Musée d' Orsay.
