Art Deco Bronze Bookends with children “Simplicity” – Raoul Benard (1930)

A rare and highly decorative pair of Art Deco bronze bookends with children titled “Simplicity”, designed by Raoul Benard and produced in France circa 1930. The sculptural composition depicts stylized children, a recurring and sought-after theme in French Art Deco sculpture.

Cast in finely detailed patinated bronze, each bookend is signed Raoul Benard and bears the LN foundry mark (Les Neveux de Lehmann, Paris), one of the most respected Parisian art foundries of the period.

These bookends are illustrated in
Art Deco and other figures, Brian Catley.

The restrained geometry, balanced proportions, and serene expression reflect the core principles of high-quality French Art Deco design, making this set particularly attractive to international collectors, art dealers, and interior designers.
