Two kneeling figures in Egyptian robes and exalted pose holding up a sacrificial offering and facing one another on long rectangular base.
This impressive table lamp by Pierre Le Faguays is a fine example of Art Déco's preference for Old Egyptian motifs, which was prompted by the discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamen in 1922 by the British archeologist Howard Carter. The hieroglyphs and typical illustrations from Old Egyptian art are in line with design principles of Art Déco.
