Emmanuel Villanis ‘Saïda’ Art Nouveau Bronze Bust – France Circa 1890

An elegant and highly decorative Art Nouveau bronze bust titled ‘Saïda’, created by the celebrated French sculptor Emmanuel Villanis (1858–1914), one of the leading sculptors of the French fin-de-siècle period.

Executed circa 1890, this refined female bust perfectly illustrates the poetic elegance of the Art Nouveau movement. The sculpture features a beautiful multicolour patina enhancing the delicate facial modelling and finely detailed hairstyle.

The work bears the signature ‘E. Villanis’ together with the foundry seal of the Société des Bronzes de Paris, confirming both authenticity and exceptional casting quality.

Villanis became internationally renowned for his graceful female figures inspired by mythology, orientalism and idealised beauty. Today, his works are highly sought after by collectors of Art Nouveau sculpture, interior designers and high-end decorative art enthusiasts.

A rare and refined collector’s piece with excellent literature references.
